Your assignment next week will be emotion with Color Theory. Using the color wheel present in the link above, you will make five photos that explore the intersection of emotion and color theory. Use colors that compliment each other to bump up the level of emotions in your photographs.
After looking at the tutorial, which of these color combinations do you find yourself drawn to? Which color pairings would make the most effective and emotional images? How will light play a factor in these images? What are some barriers to you achieving the right kind of emotional look using the color wheel?

I really like the cooler colors. They are softer on the eyes than the warmer colors. I think the color pairings depend on the person. Each of the pairings can incite different emotions in different people, and the photographer can use the color pairings to make it negative or positive by how it’s shot. Light will impact how light or dark the color actually is. Normally, darker colors represent sadness, while lighter colors represent happiness. I think the barriers would just be trying to find the color pairs in the subject you want them to be. Another thing is to make the image creative and not seem cliche.

I find myself being more drawn to the cool colors. I think pairing cool colors with one bright warm color would make the most effective emotional image. Light plays a big factor in these images. The more light, the more the colors will stand out. I think the barriers would be just finding the colors in real life.
