The photographer used a piece of glass to create that feeling of someone being squished against the glass. These all have a surreal and almost scary mood. The photographer is trying to show that in between of dreams and reality. The photographer uses real life things you see every day, adds in unusual elements and uses the glass as that barrier. This gives me an idea to create photographs about dreams I’ve had or the feelings of dreams.
It’s the use of either glass or plastic for the subject to push themselves against. I don’t really know the mood I’m getting, but I do think these are really interesting. I think the photographer is trying to show claustrophobia in a unique way, but I don’t know what the actual message behind these. For my own work, it would be interesting to shoot in really tight and closed spaces.
