After viewing the photos contained in the above link  answer the following questions using complete sentences.

These  photos are blurry. Why do they work? Do they work? What does it feel like to see someone breaking the rules like this? Are there occasions when you want a photograph to be blurry on purpose? Why doesn’t this apply to every photograph?

  1. I think they work because of how lighting is used. There is a contrast between light and dark, so it still allows you to see the shape of the subject without it being in focus. I think they do work, because not every single picture looks amazing when it’s in focus. Playing with blur is something you shouldn’t be scared of doing. If you wanted a picture to be blurry on purpose, you would need to play with lighting. For example, glitter looks much shiner and more interesting if the photo is out of focus because it catches the gleam of the glitter. For things like portraits, it really depends on the mood of the portrait itself. Sometimes this blur effect can’t be put on a portrait because it doesn’t have the right mood for it and it would look bad. I also think color has a play in this. Really vibrant colors being out of focus don’t look very good, but high contrast photos with low saturation look a lot better.
