  1. I think it’s because the subjects themselves are not extremely eye-catching, but the atmosphere you get around them is interesting. These can be things you drive past everyday and not care for them. You wouldn’t really think you could use them for photography. In a few of the night photos, especially the foggy ones, I sense calmness. I think it’s how the fog interferes with the light that creates that feeling for me. For my own work, I would really love to work with neon lighting at night, because it’s fun to work with if you do it well. I will also keep my eyes open for anything, and not necessarily have a set plan on what I want to shoot.

The pattern the pictures have. the shapes and where the houses are sitting to make a sort of staircase. these are very cool. i feel like i can go to portland and try to capture some pictures like this.

The repetition, view level, and shapes makes these images compelling. Joust plays with different shapes and street objects in these images. These images give off a melancholy mood because of the symmetry. This gives me ideas to use different techniques when doing street photography.

The pictures are all darker but they all have a pop of color. He likes using houses and finding different perspectives. The mood is kind of mysterious, and each photo looks like it was shot at 1 or 2am .
i want to shoot either in the city or a urban neighborhood.
